c. 1910’s. | Barnaby Rudge | Charles Dickens | Antique Illustrated Hardcover

$7.82 SGD

Barnaby Rudge by Charles Dickens is a historical novel set against the backdrop of the Gordon Riots of 1780. It weaves together mystery, family secrets, political unrest, violence and social tension through the story of Barnaby, a kindhearted young man caught up in events much larger than himself. It is one of Dickens’ lesser known novels, which makes older editions especially interesting for collectors and classic literature lovers.

This undated Fifth Avenue Publishing Company edition appears to date to the early 20th century and is part of the matching green cloth classics series. It features the red leaf motif on the front cover, decorative spine, and an illustrated frontispiece.

Condition: Fair antique condition with substantial age related wear. Green cloth boards show fading, rubbing, spotting, discoloration and exposed areas along the edges and corners. Spine decoration and lettering are faded. Interior pages are age toned with scattered spotting. Frontispiece and title page have visible creasing and tearing, and there is writing on one of the front endpapers. Binding shows age related wear but the text remains readable. Please review photos closely for condition.
