$2.61 SGD

Set during the Great Depression, Bud, Not Buddy follows 10 year old Bud Caldwell, a motherless boy living in Flint, Michigan, who escapes an unhappy foster home and sets out with his suitcase of treasured belongings to find the man he believes may be his father. His search leads him toward Grand Rapids and a famous jazz bandleader named Herman E. Calloway, but what Bud eventually discovers about his family is not quite what he expected. It mixes humor, adventure, history, music and some genuinely emotional moments while giving younger readers a memorable look at life during the Depression.
