Inside you’ll find classics such as Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, King Lear, Othello, Julius Caesar, Much Ado About Nothing, and many more, along with Shakespeare’s complete sonnets and major poems.
This substantial 1994 Barnes & Noble leatherbound edition uses the text prepared by Arthur Henry Bullen for the Shakespeare Head Press Oxford edition. The book is beautifully finished in deep burgundy with extensive gold decoration, raised spine bands, gilt lettering, full gilt page edges, and a built-in ribbon marker. It contains more than 1,200 pages and was published without a dust jacket.
Condition: Near fine to near-perfect vintage condition. The binding is tight, interior is exceptionally clean, gilt decoration remains bright, and the boards show very little visible wear. The gilt page edges remain beautiful overall with only a few very minor surface marks consistent with handling. Ribbon marker is intact. Please see all photos for exact condition.
