Nearly a century old, this substantial bilingual dictionary is one of those reference books that feels completely different from anything being printed today.

Cassell’s New French-English, English-French Dictionary was edited by Ernest A. Baker and published by Funk & Wagnalls in 1930. It contains both French-to-English and English-to-French sections, along with pronunciation guidance and an appendix covering proper names, weights, measures, and other reference material.

Beyond its usefulness as a language reference, this copy is a beautiful piece of early 20th-century publishing history. The deep red cloth binding, gold spine lettering, aged pages, and substantial text block give it exactly the old-library character collectors look for. It would be equally at home in a working reference library, vintage book collection, homeschool language shelf, or styled among antique books.

Condition: Good antique condition for a book approaching 100 years old. Red cloth boards show age-related rubbing and wear, particularly at the spine ends and corners. Pages have expected toning and scattered foxing/age spotting. Binding is intact. No dust jacket present.
