1987 | The Secret Garden | Frances Hodgson Burnett | CBS TV Christmas Special Tie In Edition
A fun 1980s edition of The Secret Garden created as a tie in to the 1987 Hallmark Hall of Fame CBS television adaptation. The cover features the young cast from the production, making this one a little more nostalgic and unusual than a standard modern paperback. The story follows orphaned Mary Lennox after she is sent to live at her uncle’s mysterious estate on the Yorkshire moors. There she discovers a hidden, neglected garden, a sickly cousin kept out of sight, and friendships that begin transforming all of them. This edition is the complete classic novel, not simply a movie storybook.
