2023 | Holes | Louis Sachar | Special Edition with Bonus Material
An award winning modern classic that mixes mystery, adventure, dark humor, friendship, and a surprisingly clever family history. Stanley Yelnats believes his family is cursed, and after being wrongly accused of stealing a pair of shoes, he is sent to Camp Green Lake, a boys’ detention camp where the boys spend every day digging five foot holes in the Texas heat. The adults claim it is meant to build character, but Stanley quickly realizes they are actually searching for something buried beneath the dried up lake. As the story unfolds, Stanley’s present begins connecting with events from generations earlier, revealing the truth behind his family’s curse and the mystery of Camp Green Lake.
