2001 | The Ersatz Elevator (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book 6) by Lemony Snicket
Book the Sixth in Lemony Snicket's deliciously dreadful series, the Baudelaire orphans are shipped off to the penthouse of Jerome and Esmé Squalor, where "in" is more important than anything, including the children's safety. Brett Helquist's moody illustrations and Snicket's signature gallows humor are on full display in this true first edition, (HarperCollins, 2001 stated "First Edition" on the copyright page, number line ending in 30). A great addition for series completists and Snicket collectors, or for the young reader ready for the next unfortunate installment.
