1981 | Trade Wind | M. M. Kaye | First Edition First Printing Hardcover

¥1,452 JPY (plus tax)

Set in Zanzibar in the years surrounding the American Civil War, Trade Wind is a sweeping historical novel from M. M. Kaye, author of The Far Pavilions. Hero Athena Hollis arrives from Boston determined to oppose the slave trade, only to find herself caught in a complicated world of political unrest, revolution, danger and romance. This 1981 St. Martin’s Press edition restored material from Kaye’s original manuscript that had been omitted when the novel was first published in an abbreviated form. This copy is especially interesting as a true first edition, first printing of this restored American edition, with the complete number line ending in 1.
