1969 Egermeier’s Bible Story Book Deluxe Hardcover Warner Press Illustrated Bible Stories

Egermeier’s Bible Story Book by Elsie E. Egermeier is a richly illustrated retelling of the Bible designed to make the major stories of Scripture approachable for both children and adults. Rather than presenting the biblical text word for word, Egermeier narrates the events as connected stories, beginning in Genesis and continuing through Revelation.

The book includes stories from both the Old and New Testaments, covering figures and events such as Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, the prophets, the life of Jesus, the apostles, and the early church. Its narrative style makes it especially suited for family reading, homeschool use, Sunday school, or anyone wanting a chronological overview of biblical history.

This is the 1969 Warner Press new edition, with stories by Elsie E. Egermeier and story revisions by Arlene S. Hall. The copyright page identifies the new edition and illustrations as copyright 1969, while noting earlier versions of the text dating back to 1922. This edition is illustrated throughout with striking full-page color artwork by British illustrator Clive Uptton. Bibliographic records identify the 1969 Warner Press version as the fifth illustrated edition.

The title page describes the book as “A Complete Narration from Genesis to Revelation for Young and Old.” This substantial hardcover has the attractive red cloth binding with gold lettering, a gold star design, and a tipped-in portrait of Jesus on the front cover. The spine is marked Deluxe Edition.
