1978 | Play Ball, Amelia Bedelia | Peggy Parish | Vintage I Can Read Book
One of the classic Amelia Bedelia early readers, with all of the literal minded humor that made the series so memorable. In Play Ball, Amelia Bedelia, Amelia joins a baseball game and, naturally, takes every instruction exactly as it sounds. The original style illustrations by Wallace Tripp give this copy that unmistakable vintage children’s book feel.
This copy is the first Harper Trophy edition from 1978. The copyright page also notes the book was first published in 1972 and that the 1977 hardcover was the fifth printing.
Condition: Good vintage used condition. Noticeable cover wear, creasing, rubbing and edge wear consistent with age and use. Interior pages appear intact and readable with light age toning and occasional spotting.
Age range: Approximately ages 5–8, especially early independent readers.
