A classic frontier story set in 1860s Texas, Old Yeller follows young Travis Coates, who is left to help care for his mother, little brother and homestead while his father is away. When a stray yellow dog shows up, Travis wants nothing to do with him at first, but Old Yeller quickly proves himself by protecting the family from danger and becoming an inseparable part of their lives. It is adventurous, emotional and ultimately a story about loyalty, responsibility, courage and growing up.
Condition:
Fair to good used condition. The pictorial hardcover shows noticeable edge and corner wear, including heavier wear at the lower front corner and spine ends. Pages show age toning but remain intact and readable. The inside front cover has prior owner and school markings that have been blacked out, along with a school stamp dated 2002 to 2003 and a white label covering another previous marking. There is also some light spotting and age related discoloration to the endpapers.
