A beautiful antique edition of Tancred by Benjamin Disraeli, the Victorian novelist who would later become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Originally published in 1847, Tancred follows a young English aristocrat who becomes disillusioned with conventional society and travels east in search of spiritual meaning and a greater sense of purpose. This Fifth Avenue Publishing Company edition features a green cloth hardcover with a delicate leaf motif and an illustrated frontispiece.
Condition: Antique condition with significant age related wear. Green cloth boards show rubbing, fading, spotting and wear along the edges and corners. Pages have age toning and scattered foxing/spotting. Please see photos for condition. A wonderfully imperfect old copy with lots of character.
