1969 Performing Plants | Ware T. Budlong | Vintage Botany Science Hardcover | Second Printing

CHF 4.24

A fascinating vintage science book exploring the surprisingly complex ways plants behave and interact with their environments. Performing Plants covers carnivorous plants, tropisms, symbiotic plant partnerships, seed dispersal, light-producing plants, plants’ responses to sound, electroculture, atomic gardens, medicinal plants and even what scientists of the 1960s imagined for the plants of the future. It also includes experiments children could perform themselves, making this such a fun piece of vintage science education.

Published in 1969 by Simon & Schuster and illustrated with line drawings by Grambs Miller, this copy is the second printing. At 57 years old, it would make a really interesting addition to a homeschool library, vintage science collection, botanical library, or nature-study shelf.

Condition: Vintage ex-library copy. Green cloth hardcover remains attractive and intact with expected age and shelf wear. Original school-library markings, stamps, card pocket and checkout card remain inside, which I actually think adds some fun provenance. There are also handwritten library/catalog markings and some stray marks visible inside. No dust jacket is present.
