The story opens during tryouts, where Dave is already feeling the pressure after missing a fly ball the day before. From there, the book follows the ups and downs of youth baseball, competition, mistakes, teamwork and proving yourself when the game does not always go the way you hoped.
Published by The Steck Company of Austin, Texas in 1963, this is a great vintage pick for a young baseball fan or someone who collects old children’s sports books.
Condition
Fair vintage condition. Red cloth hardcover shows fading, rubbing and wear to the edges and corners. There is writing and scribbling on the front endpaper, additional markings inside the back cover, and a former library marking on the spine. Pages show normal age toning but are intact and readable.
