A wonderfully retro middle-grade science fiction story about a boy named Dody whose family is placed in suspended animation for a hundred-year journey through space. When Dody wakes up far too early because of a computer malfunction, he is forced to spend decades awake while everyone else remains asleep.
By the time his family finally wakes, Dody has physically aged into an old man even though he is still, in many ways, the same child who began the journey. Once they reach their new planet, things become even stranger. It’s a quirky, eerie 1990s sci-fi adventure about space travel, growing up, identity, and what happens when time affects one person very differently from everyone around them. The book was originally published in 1991; this Apple Paperbacks edition was issued in 1994.
