A wonderfully nostalgic wartime edition of The Bobbsey Twins at Home, part of the long running Bobbsey Twins series by Laura Lee Hope. The story follows the two sets of Bobbsey twins, Bert and Nan and younger twins Freddie and Flossie, through everyday family adventures involving school, winter weather, neighborhood mysteries, a school play, a lumber yard adventure, and their efforts to help a boy named Tommy Todd. It has that classic early children’s series feel, with wholesome family life, small mysteries, mishaps and plenty of old fashioned adventure.
This particular copy is especially interesting because it was printed during World War II and includes the statement that the book was produced under wartime conditions in compliance with government regulations for conserving paper and other essential materials.
Condition
Fair to good vintage condition. Green cloth hardcover shows noticeable fading, spotting, rubbing and edge wear, particularly around the spine and corners. Previous owner name label inside front cover. Pages are heavily age toned but intact and readable. No dust jacket. Please see photos for exact condition.
